People Places Pleasures
Political leaders, heroic generals, and other famous people often appeared on transfer-printed wares. Subjects ranged from George Washington to popular actresses. Through these objects consumers could show their political and intellectual allegiances, their fine taste and education, and their attachment to nation, region, and community.
