Painted Prints
Before images were transferred onto ceramics with bat transfers and
tissue paper, prints were used as design sources for images. Delicate
hand painting allowed for the replication of personally significant
scenes like this one and like this great house, "BURLEIGH-HOUSE" painted with
draftsman-like precision onto a ca. 1745 plate. And the next slide of a Cambrian Pottery jug painted by Thomas Pardoe.
