All of the English-made objects here feature motifs copied from Japanese versions of Chinese porcelain. The thin spiky "bottle brush" trees that surround the seated figures on this large monteith and posset pot probably derive from Japanese imports. Similarly, the large abstracted clouds made from curling stripes of varied blue, especially prominent on this monteith and vase, also come from Japanese-made Wan Li-style porcelain. In addition, the star-like tree buds probably derive from Japanese Imari designs.
