Model of an Elastic Chair
Starch compound
On loan from Munder-Skiles, Inc., assisted by Trlby Innovative
Contemporary Designer John Danzer plans to reincarnate Graggs Elastic Chair as contemporary garden furniture. His company Munder-Skiles, Inc. in New York created this full-sized steel version as part of the design process. From the measurements of the steel armchair, a computer software program generated a three-dimensional design that in turn helped create the small model of white starch-based material. This computer model will be used to eventually cast life-sized Elastic Chairs in weather-proof resin.
