Hurricane Noel entered the Gulf of Mane in early November 2007. Nathalie Miebach used the meteorlogical data produced by the hurricane as the sculptural basis for Noel, configuring the numerical scientific data into three-dimensional form. She additionally composed a musical score based on the same data. The resulting collaborative effort between Miebach and the musicians aestheticizes the information in an imaginative way and stands as a new type of materiality that merges art and science.
