In The Important Thing, Sonya Clark recalls the time-honored mnemonic device of tying a ribbon around one’s finger to help remember something important. Today we rely on cell phones, digital notebooks, and computers to bring some order to the cycle of endless activity. The increasingly accelerated action in Clark’s video emphasizes how challenging it has become to remember the “important things” and that, perhaps, we should all slow down and take one “thing” at a time.
