the cupboard fragment illustrated in fig. 1. The slight chamfer at the juncture
of the top rail and the suspended posts is unusual, but it appears to be
the result of a mistake rather than a stylistic conceit. This detail is
barely discernible and may represent the joiners attempt to dress
up the posts adjacent to the mistakenly inverted frieze rail. |
