Figure 22  Dish, Huntington, New York, 1805–1860. Lead-glazed earthenware with slip decoration. D. 13 1/4". The slip decoration on this plate matches the cobalt blue decoration on a salt-glazed stoneware pot that descended in the Brown family and was probably made in Huntington before the Brown’s ownership. It is interesting to find a decorator who worked on stoneware and redware. Although the condition of this plate is poor, the large size and decoration are quite rare.
