The shape of this plate is identical to the two with the Leigh marks (see figs. 40, 41) as well as the Nouvelle examples (see fig. 42). The name on the reverse, “Poinciana,” is not among those listed by Harvey Duke in Official Price Guide to Pottery and Porcelain (1995), pp. 42–45, as appearing on that shape. Like most of the others illustrated from this period, this plate was found in Thorley’s attic. |
