Fired once and never glazed, this vase is one half inch taller than it would have been had it been glazed and refired. This model is very much like colorful early-nineteenth-century examples. Although never produced for the Craft House, it might have been copied from a related antique example in Colonial Williamsburg’s collection. The Thorley Papers show that one was returned to Colonial Williamsburg in the 1950s. |
