This shallow plate has a grayish glaze and is decorated with a standing figure of Aphrodite holding a billowing sail in the same hand that clutches a tress of her hair. She stands on a pearl in the midst of a calm sea. The back of the plate exhibits three sagger pin scars. See fig. 9 for a tile that shows a comparable image but of inferior quality.
