| Figure 9 Tile, Holland, ca. 1650. Delftware. 6.1" x 6.1" x .39". Aphrodite (Venus) catching the wind in her sail. She stands on an orb, perhaps a pearl, on a modified chevron sea. The tile has oxhead corners, and one inset pinhole is visible through the thick, heavily crazed glaze. The clay body is sandy pink. |
