The pattern is similar to the example from Arell’s Tavern illustrated in fig. 26. The slogan “PEACE, PLENTY AND INDEPENDENCE” appears at the bottom. Another fragment of this pitcher, from beneath the spout, shows the American eagle carrying in its beak a ribbon with the motto “E PLURIBUS UNUM.” |
