At Object Lab 9.0, students Sung Yun Bae, Hannah Calderwood, Catherine Cyr, Ashley McKinney, Sebastian A. Melmoth, Abby Moon, Isabella Rosner, Katherine Santell, and Alana Thyng investigated and applied ethical curatorial strategies to three Chipstone objects. For their final project, the students were tasked with creating videos for the United Nations General Assembly exhibition space to present a nineteenth-century woman's worktable, a World War One-era ceramic test bomb, and a Jamaican mahogany windsor chair. In this film by Jorin Hood, mentors Temple Burling, Carthage College Associate Professor of Biology, Glenn Adamson, Yale Center for British Art Senior Scholar, and Ann Smart Martin, University of Wisconsin-Madison Professor of Art History collaborate with the students to present these objects in a way that unlocks their potential to change minds and become calls for more ethical action.
