8.0

At Object Lab 8.0, students Tess Altman, Chandra Boudreau, Ryan Caulfield, Andrew Cho, Katie Colford, Kylie Escudero, Hannah Jaffe, Marisa Matheson, and Marta Sliwa explored the interpretive possibilities of prisms. For their final project, the students worked alongside mentors Glenn Adamson, Yale Center for British Art Senior Scholar, Ann Smart Martin, University of Wisconsin Madison Professor of Art History, and Temple Burling, Carthage College Associate Professor of Biology. In this film by Ted Brusubardis and Clayton Backes, the students examine an abolitionist tobacco box, an owl jug, and a teapot through different interpretive lenses, but also use these objects as lenses to develop new ways of interpreting the past.
